Context Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in the country office in Cairo and direct supervision of the Media and Communications Associate, the incumbent will support the implementation of the communications and advocacy strategies to increase the understanding and public awareness of IOM Egypt through digital platforms. Working in close collaboration with relevant colleagues and counterparts, they will contribute to the Country Office’s overall efforts in sustaining the solid communications efforts of IOM Egypt.
- Assist in the development of information and outreach materials, and activities to support awareness raising efforts, including fact sheets, newsletters, promotional materials, articles, blogs, tweets, brochures.
- Assist in dissemination of information, publications and statements and in archiving up-to-date documentation, including media clippings, photographs and audio-visual content, and published materials.
- Assist in the timely updating of the Country Office’s website, including uploading of relevant publications, press releases, human-interest stories, and other materials.
- Assist in generating creative and engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Assist in daily management of social media platforms, including responding to basic comments, messages, and inquiries across social media platforms in a timely and professional manner, and escalating more complex issues as needed.
- Assist in preparing a social media content calendar and scheduling posts using social media management tools.
- Follow up with other team members across the Country Office to facilitate timely delivery and publication of content.
- Assist in monitoring social media platforms for mentions, trends, and relevant discussions related to the organization.
- Support the preparation and sharing of media and visibility materials to key stakeholders and audiences.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of social media campaigns and promotions.
- Assist in documentation of mission events and activities through photos and videos.
- Assist in organizing events and supporting related communications outputs.
- Perform other duties as necessary. Education
- High School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communications or related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and their features.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools is an advantage.
- Experience with social media scheduling tools, is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, In design, and Premier, is an asset.
- Ability to contribute creative ideas for engaging content.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Languages
