Corporate Finance Consultant (LAB/FIA)

About this position:
IDB Lab is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented, and client-focused corporate finance consultant to provide support on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial modeling, capital scenarios and other corporate finance activities and initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Work on the implementation of a brand-new FP&A model, involving multiple processes and workflows, such as budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and integrating multiple data sources, e.g., SAP, Salesforce. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each process and workflow and ensure clear communication among business users. Use workflow automation tools to streamline the process and improve efficiency.
- Support the CFO and in coordination with the Finance Department, in the implementation of a new multi funding source model as part of IDB Lab new capitalization effort (MIF IV) including ad hoc advanced financial analysis for strategic decisions, such as various financial forecasts and stress test scenarios. This includes liquidity and capital analyses, cash flow modeling, sensitivity analyses and voting power scenarios and simulations for donors.
- Monitor, track, and provide quarterly updates of financial fees associated with core mobilization efforts, support the business intelligence dashboard, and maintain procedural guidelines up to date with operational and financial requirements.
- Partner directly and coordinate inputs with multiple relevant units across the organization such as the finance and budget departments of the IDB, as well as the operational units of IDB Lab to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
- Create presentations and reporting that provide insightful analysis and decision support for the leadership team.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
- Work on corporate projects and initiatives under the FIA unit that impact the entire organization, as requested.
What you’ll need:
- Education: A master's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field is required. Certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly desirable.
- Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience in financial modeling, financial planning and analysis, and financial management. Previous experience in direct equity investments, venture capital funds, and lending risks is a plus. Demonstrated experience working in or with markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Familiarity with the region's financial regulatory environment, economic trends, and specific risk factors affecting investments.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.
