Deliver materials and manage application services in support of building capacity of on digital trade of targeted countries in North Central Asia and APTA Deliverables: editable formats of deliverables in forms of MS Word documents, datasets, source codes, figures and visualization, PPTs, HTML Evaluation of outputs: Internal peer review Work LocationBangkok Expected duration7 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesPurpose: The contractor will support the implementation of a project titled \"Enhancing Regional and Global Value Chain Participation of Central Asian Countries to Support Sustainable Development in the Digital Era,\" which is funded by the Russian Federation. The contractor will also provide support to implement Capacity Building on Trade Facilitation and the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) Promotion to Strengthen Intra-regional Cooperation. Objective: Under the direct supervision and guidance of the officers in charge of the project, the general guidance of the Chief of Trade Policy and Facilitation Section, and the overall supervision of the Director of the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, the contractor will work with the project team to support the delivery of several activities in relation to the implementation of the project. Qualifications/special skillsMaster degree (or higher) in economics, international economics and/or development economics is required Having some academic or research experience in economics and development. Having at least three years of experience in data analysis, programming, and database management for economic and trade policy research of Asian countries Good data-analysis skills. Proficiency in excel, coding and programming for data analysis using R and/or Python. LanguagesGood English Skills Having some familiarity with ESCAP publications and UN editorial style is an asset.
