Job Overview:

Are you interested in the crossover between education technologies and education work? We’re seeking a Content Development Fellow to support the full content lifecycle for aprendIA—from discovery and organization to quality assurance and iteration! You will collaborate with curriculum, product, and engineering teams to:

Audit existing global and localized learning content; Improve searchability and personalization through high-quality metadata; Run structured red-team tests to probe safety, relevance, and age-appropriateness of bot experiences; and capture and synthesize user feedback to inform content and feature updates.

This fellowship is for students passionate about education in crisis contexts, child-safe design, and practical applications of AI in learning.

Major Responsibilities:

Content Vetting & Organization

Review, classify, and quality-check existing content (global and local) for accuracy, alignment to learning objectives, reading level, cultural/linguistic appropriateness, and age suitability. Apply and improve metadata schemas (e.g., subject, skill, level, language, format, region, curriculum alignment) to enhance discovery and personalization. Identify content gaps and propose additions or adaptations for priority learner groups. Draft, standardize, and validate tags, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies; document edge cases and decisions. Partner with product/engineering to QA how metadata renders in feeds, recommendations, and search results. Red-Teaming & Feature Testing Design and run test plans for new bot features and conversational flows, with an emphasis on safety, bias, appropriateness, and robustness in low-connectivity settings. Log issues with clear repro steps, screenshots, and severity; track resolution and retest. Supply prompt/test set curation for ongoing evaluation.

Feedback Collection & Synthesis

Collect structured and ad-hoc feedback from TU and end users; maintain a clear feedback log (themes, frequency, impact). Transform feedback into actionable insights and prioritized recommendations for content and product roadmaps. Prepare concise readouts for cross-functional teams.

Quality & Compliance

Uphold child-safeguarding and data-privacy guidelines; flag risks related to safety, misinformation, and cultural sensitivity. Support localization and accessibility reviews (language, readability, device constraints).

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in political science, education, social science, or other related field (or equivalent experience); prior experience in curriculum/content development, editorial work, or educational technology is a plus. Preference given to students currently participating in a graduate program at an accredited university. Familiarity with tagging/taxonomy design, content audits, and version control with strong editorial judgment. Strong writing across audiences and ages; sensitivity to cultural and linguistic nuance; ability to document processes crisply. Comfort with data analysis spreadsheets, issue trackers (e.g., Jira, Zendesk), and collaboration.

Work Experience:

Familiarity with designing for low-tech environments and limited connectivity. Experience or familiarity with NGOs and/or EdTech.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Experience working in the humanitarian sector or on projects with a social impact. Preference will be given to individuals based in or with experience working in the Global South region. Preferred knowledge of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and AI technologies. Preferred experience with QA/UAT. Proficiency in English required, with preference for any additional languages relevant to our target audiences (Spanish, Arabic, Bangla, French, Hausa).

Standard office working environment, including remote settings.

Compensation: (Pay Range: $20 - $24) Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
