About this position

The Legal Department (LEG) advises the IDB President and Management and when appropriate, the Board of Governors and the Board of Executive Directors, on all legal matters relating to the Bank.

The Sovereign Guaranteed Operations Division (LEG/SGO) and the Corporate Legal Affairs Division (LEG/CLA) of the Legal Department are looking for professionals to support LEG/SGO and LEG/CLA by assisting in the daily execution of its administrative and operational processes and functions.

What you’ll do

Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative support to all personnel in the respective division, including organization of files and records, tracking of project assignments, planning of meetings and events, assistance with personnel travel arrangements, and with office supplies.
  • Production, formatting and proofreading of legal documents as assigned, with review of routine aspects of data content for consistency and reliability, and administrative processing of legal documents.
  • Handling of correspondence, registration of documents in the Bank's systems for official distribution and for publication.
  • Support in the preparation of original agreements to be signed, such as memoranda of understanding, letters of intent, and documents related to the Bank’s operational program.
  • Provide support to the respective division personnel on other matters as required on a case-by-case basis relating to activities performed by the respective division staff.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Technical studies or associate degree.
    • Experience: Two years of relevant professional experience.
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

        Requirements

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
