The Position:

The position offers the flexibility to be based either in Copenhagen or remotely.

UNFPA’s commitment to improving availability and access to quality-assured reproductive health commodities hinges on robust forecasting and coordination of stakeholders to develop actionable national supply plans. In this regard, the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) aims to strengthen the overall quantification capacity at UNFPA and Implementing Partners. Anchored within this broader capacity-building initiative is to design, develop, and deliver a blended learning course on the Quantification of reproductive health commodities. The course will be delivered through a blended/hybrid learning approach, combining self-paced online educational materials (e.g. videos/audios/interactivities/quizzes available online etc.) with traditional classroom methods (either in-person or via video calls). The course will be divided into 5-6 modules, where each module includes 3-4 lessons focusing on various topics related to quantification and the management of reproductive health commodities (see draft setup below). There should be assessments throughout the course that test the learner’s knowledge of the content, including a comprehensive assessment at the end of the course for the learner to obtain a certification of completion. For each lesson, participants should also be given various exercises and engaging activities to allow them to practice their understanding of the subject of the lesson. The course could be deployed in UNFPA’s Learning Management System (e.g. Moodle) with appropriate course evaluation methods/criteria.

The training will be available for UNFPA staff and partners working at country and regional levels dealing with supply chain management and quantification of reproductive health commodities. It will help participants in acquiring soft and technical skills and provide an overview and explanation of UNFPA quantification requirements.

How you can make a difference:

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s strategic plan (2022-2025), reaffirms the relevance of the current strategic direction of UNFPA and focuses on three transformative results: to end preventable maternal deaths; end unmet need for family planning; and end gender-based violence and harmful practices. These results capture our strategic commitments on accelerating progress towards realizing the ICPD and SDGs in the Decade of Action leading up to 2030. Our strategic plan calls upon UN Member States, organizations and individuals to “build forward better”, while addressing the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on women’s and girls’ access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, recover lost gains and realize our goals.

In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff, who embody these international norms and standards, and who will defend them courageously and with full conviction.

UNFPA is seeking candidates that transform, inspire and deliver high impact and sustained results; we need staff who are transparent, exceptional in how they manage the resources entrusted to them and who commit to deliver excellence in programme results.
