The incumbent of this post: 1.Supervisor: The incumbent reports to Deputy Principal of Training Centre through the appropriate Senior TVET Instructor 2.Supervisees: NA ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent: 1. Administrative Responsibilities: a) Oversees and ensures the security, proper functioning, and maintenance of computer lab facilities and equipment. Maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records of all ICT assets and monitors laboratory usage to optimize resource allocation. Ensures compliance with software licensing agreements and copyright regulations, coordinating closely with the Field IT Office to address any licensing or regulatory concerns. b) Conducts regular audits of ICT equipment and systems to identify and address any gaps in inventory, security, or compliance. c) Develops and implements procedures for the effective management and use of computer lab resources. 2. Technical Responsibilities: a) Installs, configures, and troubleshoots hardware, software, and operating systems. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs; coordinates and escalates major issues to FIMTO for external resolution. b) Manages Microsoft Office 365 “Education” accounts for TVET instructors and students, including performing necessary updates and password resets for all education users at the VTC. Provides support and facilitates access for instructors and students to the online learning platform. c) Diagnoses and resolves network and system issues in the training center. d) Replaces computers’ consumable items, peripherals components for various ICT devices, such as toner cartridges, batteries, and other hardware parts as needed. e) Assists in recommending new ICT equipment and software purchases and providing consultation on the acquisition of hardware and software. 3. User Support: a) Provides guidance and technical assistance to students, instructors, and administrative staff in response to their queries and technical challenges. Ensures prompt solution of user issues to maintain productivity. b) Facilitates user training on hardware, software applications, and online platforms to enhance user competency and ensure effective utilization of resources. c) Acts as the primary point of contact for user feedback, collecting suggestions for improving ICT services and ensuring the user experience is continually enhanced. 4.
