Result of ServiceObjectives The objective of Communications Consultant is to support the UN Armenia's mission by enhancing the effectiveness, reach and impact of its communication strategies for the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. Specially, a communications Consultant brings expertise and fresh perspectives that help the UN engage with diverse global audiences, manage complex narratives, and ensure coherent messaging across multiple platforms: The primary objectives of the Communications Consultant are: ● To develop and implement an effective communication strategy for the UNSDCF and implementation of the SDGs. ● To enhance the visibility and outreach of the UN to key stakeholders. ● To ensure cohesive, consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. For the purposes of: ● Enhancing public awareness and understanding, digital presence and outreach. ● Improving stakeholder engagement. ● Supporting and localizing global campaigns and initiatives. ● Supporting knowledge management and sharing, policy analysis, and internal communication. ● Enhancing adaptability and innovation, applying data-driven insights and evaluation. Two months with possibility of extension. Work LocationArmenia Expected durationJul 14 - Sep 12 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks 1. Prepare and implement a joint communications strategy for UNSDCF and SDG acceleration. 2. Support donor coordination forum platform engagements. 3. Support the coordination efforts of the UNCG, in alignment with the joint UN Armenia communication strategy on SDG mainstreaming. 4. Produce high quality joint communication products/campaigns branded in line with corporate standards. 5. Organise joint UN public events/campaigns (including digital)/SDG acceleration initiatives to profile the UN’s support and advocate for key issues for achieving progress on 2030 Agenda/SDG and the UNSDCF in the country. A consultant is required to provide support to the UNCT, UNCG and RCO to prepare communication products to ensure the clarity, comprehensiveness, and consistency of the news flaw in accordance with the UN communication planning and priorities. The consultant is also required to provide support in efficiently and effectively producing the end product of monthly or quarterly newsletter, highlighting the key achievements of UN Armenia. This includes ensuring clarity, accuracy, relevance, and engaging narratives in all materials that the country communications teams produce. Two months with possibility of extension. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced university degree in PR and Communications, public administration, public relations, social media marketing or related field is required. At least 5 years of experience in journalism, communications, or related fields is required. A solid experience in the areas of communications, marketing, journalism, and digital communication is required. Excellent writing, editorial, and presentation skills is required. Excellent record of accomplishment in producing communications material including social media posts and brochures, flyers, etc. is required. Good knowledge of communication principles is required. Knowledge of multimedia to develop a range of communication and information products is required. Knowledge of digital media, websites, social media platforms and processes is required – particularly Facebook and Twitter – with experience in creating and sharing digital content. Previous communications experience with the UN or similar is an asset. Ability to operate in teams and in a flexible manner, familiarity with multi-national and multicultural working environments is required. Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of target audiences, highly effective writing style, and expertise in high-impact messaging to global audiences is required.
