The Position:

You will will work under the supervision of the Communications Analyst, in close collaboration with other relevant team members, under the overall guidance of the Head of the Office.

In an increasingly digital landscape, a sophisticated online presence is essential for maintaining organizational relevance, credibility, and impact. Effective digital communication serves as a dynamic conduit for sharing UNFPA’s mission, allowing the CO to reach diverse audiences, particularly youth, with agility and precision. Beyond visibility, a robust digital strategy facilitates real-time interaction with state institutions, donors, and the public, fostering collaboration and driving critical resource mobilization efforts.

Job Purpose:

The Communications Associate fits into the CO structure, operating under the direct supervision of the Communications and Partnerships Analyst. By assisting in the production of high-quality, engaging content and maintaining consistent updates across all digital platforms, the Associate ensures that the organization’s messaging remains impactful and responsive.

The required services will directly contribute to the CO’s objectives by strengthening media relations and amplifying the visibility of UNFPA’s initiatives. Through creative storytelling and strategic platform management, the Associate will help transform complex developmental goals into accessible, actionable content, ultimately fostering a sense of shared purpose among stakeholders and the wider Georgian community.

You would be responsible for:

Contribute to the development and implementation of the UNFPA CO Advocacy and Communication Plan. This includes building and maintaining a robust network with journalists specializing in human rights, gender equality, and reproductive health to increase electronic media coverage of UNFPA-related news and events. Ensure a consistent and compelling social media presence for UNFPA Georgia by managing a content calendar and optimizing all digital platforms. This involves monitoring digital trends to update platforms and managing social media accounts and the CO webpage in strict accordance with UNFPA corporate guidance to boost engagement and impact. Lead the production of impactful, innovative content—including articles, blog posts, infographics, videos, applications, and board games. This entails close collaboration with designers, photographers, and videographers to ensure all materials align with UNFPA and donor visibility rules and regulations. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital communication efforts. These insights are used to inform and adjust communication strategies as appropriate, ensuring that digital outreach remains effective and data driven. Support the Communication Analyst in preparing advocacy materials and obtaining necessary clearances and approvals for all products. This includes maintaining the monthly content production plan, updating UNFPA internal systems, and ensuring all materials meet internal quality and policy standards. Contribute to the planning and execution of local and global communication campaigns in coordination with partners. Maintain a steady information flow with UNFPA-supported projects and implementing partners to ensure synchronized communication and successful advocacy events.

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education:  

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or relevant subjects or equivalent with additional 3 years of similar working experience is desirable.

Knowledge and Experience: 

Experience in press release writing, social media management, and production of multimedia materials (videos, infographics).  Strong coordination and digital skills. Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to change; international/multicultural experience; UN system experience.

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Georgian is required; knowledge of Russian is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits:
