The Communication Technical Officer will support the work of NRC Ukraine’s Country Office in the 
implementation of NRC’s internal and external communication initiatives. In particular, they will 
support the collecting, drafting, and editing of communication materials, and ensuring the day-to-day 
implementation of the communications function in the Country Office.

What you will do:

Generic responsibilities:

Support the implementation of NRC Ukraine’s Communications plan. Undertake regular travel to NRC program locations to gather content relating to NRC 
programs, and support program staff with communications-related activities. Support programs teams and partners with the development of visibility materials, ensuring 
these are developed in compliance with NRC and donor guidelines.  Lead the development and management of NRC Ukraine’s social media outputs. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the communication function. Any other duties that will be assigned by Advocacy Manager and the Communication 
coordinator. Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.

Specific responsibilities 

Visit NRC field sites to collect communications materials for internal and external use and 
support NRC’s programs and partners in content gathering and other communications 
activities. Collect and upload quality photos, video, social media content and other materials for use in 
traditional and social media. Work efficiently with programs teams and partners to develop visibility materials and other 
communications products that comply with NRC and donor guidelines. Support the drafting and developing of recurrent communications products, infographics or 
other visual materials as required.  Collect and draft materials for writing media and web stories profiling the humanitarian 
situation in areas of operations. Other tasks as requested by the Advocacy Manager and the Communication coordinator.

Min 3 years of experience from working as a communication, public information and media 
specialist in a humanitarian/recovery context would be an advantage Higher education in a relevant subject or equivalent field experience  Proficient knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian languages Fluency in English, both written and verbal  Proactive approach and willingness to learn
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative thinking. Strong work ethic and focus on results. Strong organisational and team working skills. Good ability to work independently. Sensitivity and high levels of self-awareness. Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential. Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Ukraine, humanitarian operations and the dynamics 
of the humanitarian sector is a plus.
