    The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

    WFP Nigeria Country Office is scaling-up resilience and nutrition activities to invest in building community assets, promote education, improve nutrition and health, and create jobs particularly for women and young people. The aim is to save lives of people affected by conflict and climatic shocks while building resilience to achieve transformative change.

    Under the supervision of Area Office Head of Programme and in liaison with WFP Nigeria’s Communication and Media (COM) Lead, with support, in
    collaboration with Livelihoods and Nutrition teams, the Communications Officer (Creative Content), will support the production, design of various creative content projects in northeast Nigeria, lead on post-production of content in liaison with the Country Office, Area Office and Sub Offices, travel to the field to gather and produce compelling multimedia storytelling - employing high-end professional videography, photography and, text and graphics skills - to show the impact on community livelihoods, food security, nutrition, and more. The purpose is to enable stakeholders to understand the scale of the change communities are making in their lives; demonstrating that despite challenges, northeast Nigeria, particularly Borno and Yobe states, can thrive and that the people are taking action towards development despite several challenges including conflict, climate change and economic shocks.

    • Manage end-to-end visual communication products and develop strategies for the resilience and nutrition activities in northeast Nigeria, in liaison with Country Office COM team, Head of Area Office, Heads of Programme in the Country and Area Offices, Heads of Livelihoods and of Nutrition, Livelihoods and Nutrition teams.
    • Serve as audiovisual creative content strategist and producer for the Nigeria Country Office - and deploying, as necessary for photography and videography.
    • Guide visual storytelling covering Borno and Yobe states in coordination with Country Office COM team and Resilience and Nutrition teams to design a production outline and plan with conceptual framework, approach, and vision to develop video and photographic work including creative briefs and scenarios and then arrange shooting for specific projects.
    • Design, develop and deliver compelling, creative audiovisual content for online events that make it easy for audiences to understand data, narratives, and proof points, working in anticipation and delivering quick turnaround solutions for last-minute requests.
    • Coordinate and plan travel to sites, as necessary, and ensure professional filming and photography of the interventions; produce content including engaging text, photos, videos, and audio content for use across a range of integrated platforms, to support advocacy.
    • Lead video productions, photography and graphics post-production, including captioning, outputting final deliverables within set timelines. Liaise with COM HQ (Creative Studio) to develop complementary tools, style, branding, quality, and measurements.
    • Serve as a content producer with specialized technical skills in virtual reality productions. Provide strategic advice and give support to Area and Sub Offices to improve communications to achieve the most impact.
    • Other duties and tasks as requested by the Supervisor.

      DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF CONTRACT (Inclusive and not exclusively)

      • Videos on Mastercard success stories and impact in Borno and Yobe states.
      • WFP-UNICEF joint videos for BMZ supported projects.
      • High-resolution photos with captions, reflecting programmes/interventions, activities, as well as impact on communities/environment for social media use, reports, or knowledge- based products, some accompanied with strong beneficiary or partner/staff testimonies.
      • Virtual Reality video stories in Borno and Yobe state agriculture projects.
      • Video and photo content for RESEILIENCE side event at the Executive Board.
      • Creative content briefs, field production and post-production for audiovisual and photographic narratives related to the integrated resilience and nutrition activities in northeast Nigeria.
      • Support and lead content production for global media pushes.

        QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE·At least one (1) year of postgraduate professional experience or 3 years of graduate professional experience.
