Mission and objectivesUNDP is a global knowledge network that promotes human development and connects countries with knowledge, experiences and resources to help people build better lives. ContextUNDP has been supporting Djibouti since 1979 in developing its own solutions to development challenges and in strengthening capacities to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030). The 2030 Agenda is an action plan for people, the planet, and prosperity. It also aims to strengthen universal peace in greater freedom. It recognizes that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an essential requirement for sustainable development. UNDP’s objectives in Djibouti is to end poverty in a diversified economy, build democratic governance with inclusive and efficient institutions, enhance the resilience of the country and population against climate change with a specific focus on youth, women and persons with disabilities.
