Job description

The Civil Peace Service Programme of GIZ, is a conflict transformation programme aimed at preventing violence and promoting peace in crisis and conflict regions. The programme works with Peace Building Advisors to implement peacebuilding measures. Since 2009, GIZ CPS cooperates with Civil Society Organizations and Governmental Organizations to strengthen their capacities in non- violent approaches to conflict transformation, prevention of displacement as well as organizational development for the partner organizations. GIZ CPS works with inclusive, participatory methods and integrates the ‘do no harm’-approach in its intervention. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Alternative Justice System (AJS) are some of the approaches employed by CPS Kenya. Over the years, the programme has seen the gradual integration of MHPSS into peacebuilding work.
