Job Overview: The Casework Assistant supports the delivery of trauma-informed resettlement services to refugees and other qualified immigrants. This position assists with pre- and post-arrival activities to ensure clients have the resources and support necessary to achieve their resettlement goals and long-term self-sufficiency. The Casework Assistant works collaboratively with staff, partners, and community providers to ensure coordinated, effective service delivery.

Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Complete pre- and post-arrival activities to ensure clients have access to essential needs such as housing, food, transportation, and medical care. Support client orientation and integration by connecting clients to educational, health, and social services. Assist clients with identifying and achieving resettlement and self-sufficiency goals. Maintain accurate and timely case notes and data entry in accordance with program requirements. Support data tracking, documentation, and reporting. Collaborate effectively with coworkers, service providers, and community partners to coordinate services. Build and maintain positive relationships with area agencies and organizations to benefit clients. Use personal, insured vehicle or public transportation to transport clients and materials as needed. Provide interpretation or translation assistance when applicable. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma strongly preferred;

Work Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience strongly preferred. Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships. Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in work product. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in English required; bilingual ability in Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, or other refugee/immigrant language preferred.

Certificates or Licenses:

Valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, and access to reliable transportation. Must possess or be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card per Arizona state law.

Working Environment:

A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Must be able to lift 35–50 pounds (furniture, household supplies, food boxes).

Compensation: (Pay Range: $17 - $18**)** Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
