JOB TITLE: Business Support Associate (Partnerships)
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Special Service Agreement (SSA-6)

DURATION: 11 months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The National Zero Hunger Strategic Review (NSR) recommendation has stimulated the necessary partnerships to achieve SDG 2, fostering coordination among the Government of Armenia, the donor community, United Nations agencies, beneficiaries, civil society, the private sector, and the diaspora. WFP Armenia will pursue strategic partnerships and joint advocacy efforts with all relevant stakeholders aiming to achieve full implementation of its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2019-2024 as well as diversification of donor base and types of partnerships. The WFP Armenia will develop short and long-term approaches through a whole-of-society approach, targeted at strategic partnerships with WFP's traditional and emerging donors, the Government of Armenia, and complementary partnerships with the private sector, diaspora, and the UN agencies.
Given the above, the WFP Armenia has identified a need for hiring a Business Support Associate (Partnership) who can be part of the Partnership team and will contribute to the development of new and existing partnerships including private partnerships to support the implementation of WFP activities, advocate for the work of WFP, and raise and mobilize resources to support WFP's efforts to promote food and nutrition security and achieve zero hunger in Armenia by 2030.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the overall guidance of the Country Director and the direct supervision of the Partnership Officer, the Business Support Associate (Partnerships) will be responsible for the below duties that include, but not limited to:
Assist the Partnerships Officer in the development of partnership strategies, and identifying potential collaborative partnerships with the public and private sectors;
Support in funding proposal writing, and corporate and ad-hoc reporting;
Collate and analyze data for preparation of accurate and timely reports/documents/correspondence on programmes;
Support in the development of a Partnership Resourcing Strategy as part of the Country's Strategic Plan process;
Ensure timely and relevant information and reporting are provided to donors;
Support in developing and maintaining close working relationships with partners and donors;
Support the Partnership Officer with the management of a portfolio of partnerships, soliciting contributions,
Development of papers, agreements, and MOUs to promote the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the national, regional and global agenda;
Contribute to ideas and highlight fundraising opportunities to maintain and increase funding from new and traditional donors;
Prepare briefing documents for meetings with stakeholders including donors;
Work with other functional units to ensure the effective flow of information and to align activities with agreed donor requirements;
Support in management and maintenance of records and databases, to ensure information is organized and readily available;
Other tasks as required.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Contributions provided to the Partnership team and under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Officer, for:
development of Partnerships Resourcing Strategy for WFP Armenia.
briefing materials for management, stakeholders, and donors.
successful submission of proposals for funds.
preparation of collaborative partnership agreements.
inputs for corporate and ad-hoc reporting.
inputs for information to partners and stakeholders of results for partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
Completion of a secondary school education. A university degree in Political Science, Business Development, Development Economics, Marketing Communications, or other relevant fields is desirable.
Experience:
A minimum of six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream, out of which at least two years of experience in supporting projects and operational activities that maintain and develop donor partnerships, assisting in proposal writing, collating data, and drafting resourcing analysis, and general administrative work.
Training and/or experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and other standard office software packages and systems.
Knowledge & Skills:
Specialized knowledge of the application of common business processes, practical business support methods, procedures, and systems used in the area of work, gained through technical training and work experience.
Good communication skills to provide specialized business support services to a wide range of individuals.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and monitor budgets.
Ability to proactively identify and recommend areas for improvement to the design and delivery of specialized services.
Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions. • Experience in coordinating the work of others and self and training and supporting others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Understand government strategies. Has developed effective relationships with partners explored new areas to scale up existing activities and researched new opportunities.
Has motivated team spirit and contributed to a gender-balanced, inclusive, and sound working environment.
Languages:
Fluency (level C) in English and Armenian languages; working knowledge (level B) of the Russian language is desired.
