About this position

The Office of the Special Advisor on Gender and Diversity is responsible for enhancing coordination and fostering synergies within the IDB Group and with external partners on Gender and Diversity to achieve greater impact. The Office also advises the President of the Bank on the respective Action Plans, development impact of IDB Group financed activities and related corporate affairs. The selected candidate will support the Special Advisor on Gender and Diversity and the team.

What you’ll do:

Analytical support

  • Support for the tracking and preparation of periodic reports on gender and diversity at the level of the IDB Group for aspects of corporate management and governance, operations, and progress on action plans and the institutional strategy.
  • Design a map on gender and diversity across the IDB Group that identifies key internal and external stakeholders in specific thematic areas such as care, violence prevention, economic empowerment, institutional strengthening in diversity and gender, and climate.
  • Prepare an overview of project level indicators for gender and diversity at the level of the IDB Group.
  • Capture comprehensive meeting notes and generate minutes for internal distribution when needed.
  • Provide periodic briefing materials in preparation for missions, meetings and events.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
  • Perform other activities to support the day-to-day operations of the Office.

    Communications

    • Support the preparation of dissemination materials about the work of the IDB Group in gender and diversity.
    • Support the coordination of outreach events and activities including logistical arrangements and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

      What you'll need

      • Education: Bachelor’s degreeMaster’s degree in social science (economics, public policy, sociology, political science). Masters preferred.
      • Experience: Between 2 and 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience working at the IDB Group is desirable. Also experience in project management, data analysis and the use of emerging technologies. Understanding of gender and diversity mainstreaming and multi-stakeholder communication and dialogue. Systems: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook required. Knowledge of Stata, R Studio, Python, and Tableau are desirable.
      • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
