About this position

The Amazon Coordination Unit (ACU) is looking for an upbeat General Operations Consultant with excellent communication, inter-personal skills to support the Unit Chief in day-to-day activities and to provide support in all operational and administrative matters.

The consultant will be assigned to work with the Amazon Coordination Unit Front Office. The objective of the consultancy is to assist the ACU Unit Chief and to provide support in all operational and logistical activities that pertains to the Front Office.

You will work with the CSD/ACU department, which is part of the Amazon Coordination Unit, within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Sector of the IDB. This team is responsible for the implementation of the Amazon Forever Program.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide technical, operational and administrative support to the Unit Chief including timely follow-up and liaisons with key project and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in the coordination, preparation, and development of special projects and initiatives needed for the Unit.
  • Follow-up on matters pending action and independently handles and expedites routine information requests.
  • Support the Unit Chief in the engagement with stakeholders operating in the Amazon region.
  • Organise and execute multisectoral coordination among different stakeholders within the Bank.
  • Tailor communication according to the needs of diverse audiences.

    Therefore mentioned activities are part of the position's main responsibilities; however, they do not exclude additional administrative activities that may be necessary for completing tasks.

    What you’ll need:

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Communications, or any other related field.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in office support related activities are required. Experience in an international/multilateral organization is a plus.
    • Languages: Excellent command of English and Portuguese (verbal and written).

      Key Skills:

      • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
      • Attention to detail. Well-developed organizational skills.
      • Ability to work independently, with initiative and responsibility as well as to be able to work with a team spirit, excellent computer skills (MS Outlook Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Internet Explorer).

        Requirements:

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
