Organizational Background

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria is the international organization setting up the global verification system foreseen under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), which is the treaty banning any nuclear-weapon-test explosion or any other nuclear explosion. The Treaty provides for a global verification regime, including a network of 337 stations worldwide, a communications system, an international data centre and on-site inspections to monitor compliance.

Organizational Setting

This position is located in the Quality Management and Performance Monitoring (QMPM) Section under the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Reporting Lines

Under the supervision of the Chief, QMPM, to:

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Identify and document all the functionalities currently implemented in Alfresco, including any custom features. Understand and report on how these features are utilized within the organization;
  2. Explore the corresponding features and functionalities available in SharePoint and determine if SharePoint provides built-in capabilities or if custom developments are required to replicate the current Alfresco DMS features;
  3. Evaluate the feasibility of replicating these customizations in SharePoint;
  4. Ensure all documents, metadata and associated content (e.g., version history, created and modified details, etc.) can be accurately transferred to SharePoint. Conduct a risk analysis and report any potential issues;
  5. Prepare and deliver a presentation describing the key findings of the analysis;
  6. Draft and present a comprehensive report on the results of the analysis detailed above including, inter alia, a proposal of a roadmap for the migration, a description of the required processes and the risk analysis of the migration, including system compatibility issues;
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education

    • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field;

      Work Experience and Qualifications

      • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the IT infrastructure area, including Cloud systems;
      • In-depth technical knowledge of Alfresco, as well as in-depth technical knowledge of cloud solutions in an enterprise IT environment. e.g. Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint) with proven track record of successfully migrating and implementing cloud-based solutions;
      • Experience with an enterprise documentation management system/platform, such as Alfresco, is essential;
      • Experience in drafting technical documents is essential;
      • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems with particular emphasis on documentation and process evaluation, is desirable;
      • General knowledge of the PTS QMS is an asset.

        Languages

        • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;
        • Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.

            Duration of contract:

            This consultancy assignment is for a maximum duration of 40 working days (to be completed between October to December 2024).
