About this position

ORP/GCM is seeking an experienced AI Process Automation Consultant with expertise in AI solutions, software development, and technical documentation writing. This short-term role focuses on developing and implementing AI-driven tools to automate key ORP/GCM processes. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in AI and software development and experience quickly delivering effective solutions.

You will work in the Grants and Cofinancing Management Unit (GCM), part of the Office of Outreach and Partnerships (ORP). GCM serves as an accountable interface that links partners' resources to IDB projects, knowledge products, and programs that meet the needs of Latin America and the Caribbean through close coordination with IDBG’s operational units and the Resource Mobilization Division. The GCM's key functional areas include managing partner resources, ensuring compliance with donor agreements and IDB policies, and reporting back to partners.

What you’ll do

  • AI Tool Development:
    • Analyze the Trust Fund Coordinator's operational needs and identify opportunities for automation through AI.
    • Design and develop at least two AI-driven tools that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensure the tools are scalable, secure, and aligned with GCM's objectives.
    • System Integration:
      • Integrate the developed tools seamlessly with existing GCM systems and workflows.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth adoption and usage of the new tools.
      • Testing & Optimization:
        • Conduct rigorous testing to guarantee tool reliability, security, and ease of use.
        • Optimize the tools for performance and adapt them based on feedback and evolving needs.
        • Technical Documentation & Training:
          • Create clear, detailed documentation for the developed tools, including user guides and system architecture.
          • Provide training and support to GCM staff to ensure effective utilization of the new tools.

            What you'll need

            • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or other field. Desired studies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
            • Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience developing AI-driven tools in a consulting or academic environment.
            • Languages/Communication: Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required. Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable.

            • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
            • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
