About this position

The Sanctions Committee is the second and final instance of the IDB Group’s anti-corruption adjudicative process, which deliberates on appeals against sanctions issued by the Sanctions Officer. The Sanctions Committee Secretariat is responsible for directing procedures, coordinating actions and providing general support in the adjudication of cases presented to the Sanctions Committee. This Secretariat has a leadership role in the management of the Sanctions Committee’s activities, requiring a high level of technical expertise and the provision of input to resolve complex technical problems in this area.

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and energetic Administrative Support Consultant. In this position, you will provide office management support services to the Sanctions Committee Secretariat under the supervision of the Executive Secretary.

What you’ll do:

  • Help with all administrative tasks such as processing payments to consultants and members of the Sanctions Committee and coordinating and organizing internal and external meetings.
  • Make purchase plans for office supplies and take regular stock of inventory.
  • Keep all supporting documentation related to costs and expenses.
  • Keep updated the physical and electronic archives curated by the Secretariat, such as the Case Management System.
  • Handle all logistical and administrative tasks related to issuing decisions, (such as ensuring the consistency of prepared documents, making copies for each appellant, preparing folders and labels, verifying addresses, arranging courier services, and tracking documents shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare memos and other basic communications for the Sanctions Committee and the Sanctions Committee Secretariat.
  • Prepare all administrative tasks for travel or missions, including managing hotel and tickets reservations, visa requirements and Travel Authorizations.
  • Support and organize internal and external meetings, performing tasks such as preparing the agenda, drafting minutes, and monitoring agreed actions.
  • Provide support for the preparation and logistical planning of a wide variety of meetings and events, including conferences in Washington DC and/or overseas, workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Undertake other tasks and ad-hoc assignments, as assigned by the Executive Secretary.

    What you'll need

    • Education: Technical studies or associate degree or equivalent in Administration, Administrative Assistant, Accounting, Law, or related fields.
    • Experience: At least 2 years but less than 5 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish or English, spoken and written, is required. Both languages knowledge is preferable.

        Requirements:

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
