To increase the fundraising resources and achieve the established goals in the PSP (Private Sector Partnerships) set by the Global Headquarters and Brazil’s Country Office, the PSP Individual Giving team needs extra capacity to implement the strategy and to meet the goals forecasted.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Acquisition Associate and working with third party stakeholders this position will ensure DRTV fundraising campaign are launched on time and budget, be responsible for assisting the DRTV strategy to recruit new donors, performing weekly analysis and accurately tracking and attribution for the optimization of this channel, in order to reduce non-fundraising costs, increase the agility of changing media planning and strategy and therefore meet the return on investment’s criteria.
The Acquisition Assistant will also support the planning of direct mail campaigns, including writing briefs and preparing final artwork in collaboration with the printing company for the printing and mailing of direct mail appeals. Additionally, the Acquisition Assistant will be responsible for maintaining relationships with companies that provide direct mail lists and, together with the Donor Development team, will manage communication and activities with the printing company that handles the acquisition direct mail printing.

Duties
Reporting to the Senior Acquisition Associate and working in tandem with PSP team, the Acquisition Assistant (DRTV and Direct Mail) will:
• Support the Senior Acquisition Associate in implementing the DRTV and Direct Mail programs and strategies to achieve the annual target: income and new donors.
• Be responsible for DRTV and Direct Mail channels and all related activities such as creatives, attribution, tracking, periodic analysis, and reports, etc.
• Monitor, supervise and work in tandem with the DRTV stakeholders, such as suppliers and the UNHCR Head Quarter team (DRTV specialist), delivering clear guidance of strategy and targets, plans and materials, ensuring deadlines and goals are well determined and met.
• Support in the production/edition of creatives for Direct Mail and DRTV, in house or via agencies, including translations and making sure UNHCR brand book is being followed.
• Produce weekly analysis of the DRTV program, making sure to act fast to change media plan when necessary and meet target.
• Produce periodic reports and ad hoc reports of DRTV and Direct Mail programs, analyzing and presenting results to manager, head of office, HQ team, etc.
• Support on quarterly reports to HQ, annual plan and National Growth Funds (NGF) requests.
• Provide administrative support when requested (participation in bidding process for new suppliers, payments, etc).
• Perform any additional assignments as requested by direct supervisor or manager.

Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Assistant

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern (POC).
Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees. UNHCR has developed a Private Sector Fundraising Strategy focusing on both Individual Giving and Private Sector Partnerships, identifying priority fundraising markets and regions.
Individual Giving (IG) is targeted at the general public to secure the support of individuals through regular, unrestricted donations, cash appeals and legacies. The aim is to generate both monthly and one-time donations from individuals using various channels and methods including direct mail, face-to-face fundraising, telemarketing, digital fundraising, DRTV and emergency fundraising, with focus on strong donor loyalty and lifetime value.
The purpose is to maximize the donor base from the individual giving (IG) for UNHCR, those with the ability to provide donations of between $1 to $10.000 (depending on local market conditions, as well as scope of responsibility) per year to UNHCR.
The PSP Individual Giving Assistant contributes to the IG team development, providing technical expertise and operationality to enable the team to operate to their full potential.
