Position Title: Associate, Accounting Location: Little Rock, Arkansas (Hybrid) Department: Finance – General Accounting POSITION SUMMARY Winrock International is searching for a detail-oriented accounting associate who will support the accounts payable department. The Accounting Associate has primary responsibility for the day-to-day activities within the accounting department. The Accounting Associate will review coding, as well as prepare consultants and subawards invoices. This position will also ensure invoices are within the terms, conditions, and the period of performance set forth in the agreements. The associate will ensure that invoices are received in a timely manner, and that finance has the necessary files to support purchase orders and payments while establishing routines for data entry, filing, and management of documentation is accurate and available. This position reports to the Director, Assistant Controller and will be required to be in office 1 day per week (Little Rock, Arkansas). POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews, reconciles, and receipts invoices (consultants, and subcontractors) to ensure accuracy and coding consistency. Identifies coding inconsistencies and communicates with the appropriate stakeholders on necessary invoice corrections for completion. Assists in facilitation of training global program colleagues on how to properly code in accordance with company policies and procedures. Monitors and tracks advances sent to consultants and subcontractors to ensure they are cleared before moving forward for disbursement. Maintains, organizes, and updates subcontractor orders and database record maintenance to ensure the most up to date information is displayed at all times. Coordinates and provides the retrieval of all subcontractor and awards file requests from Winrock’s Finance system. Creates and organizes data received into spreadsheets, ensuring timely processing of invoices in accordance with internal accounting procedures Provides administrative support to the general accounting team for month-end close deliverables. Provides support, as needed, with annual and donor audit requests. Other tasks and projects as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. Combination of experience and education, in lieu of degree, will also be considered. Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred. Computer/Technical Skills: Strong analytical and computer skills, specifically spreadsheet and financial analysis required. Proficient with full Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of excel formulas required. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills and etiquette with a customer-service attitude to treat issues with urgency and confidentiality, bringing matters to resolution. Language: Fluent in English required. Required Travel: Minimal to no travel. Position-Specific Skills: Experience and knowledge of basic accounting procedures required. Ability to assess current workload and prioritize job responsibilities and deadline adjustments when necessary. Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills while multi-tasking multiple priorities. Ability to work in a diverse, team-oriented, and collaborate environment. Skilled knowledge in generating process documentation. Physical Demands: This position typically requires sitting for long periods for office work, standing, bending, and reaching. Ability to move incoming supply orders and file boxes. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
