For more information on UNOV, please visit the website www.unov.org ResponsibilitiesWithin assigned authority, the incumbent will perform the following specific duties: • Record and reconcile complex accounting transactions. • Examine and record financial transactions of Field Offices/Headquarters/other UN organisations and prepare remittances for disbursement. • Reconcile complex bank accounts in various currencies. • Assist in the processing of payments to governments and vendors for goods and services. This includes, amongst other things, calculating, and checking payments for correctness and communicating discrepancies to supervisors. • Assist in processing payments to staff members for their entitlements including salaries, claims, education grants and income tax. • Draft/prepare communications to various offices, departments and overseas offices. • Respond to queries from staff members and third parties. • Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. • Perform other work-related duties as may be required. Work ExperienceA minimum of five years of experience in accounting, finance or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. At least two years in accounting functions is required. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Word are required. Two years of relevant experience to be within the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable. Experience in processing and verifying UN Travel Entitlements is desirable. Experience in the processing of payments and performing accounting reconciliations is desirable. Experience with payables or finance modules of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems is desirable. Experience with SAP or Umoja system is desirable.
