The Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist is located in the Office of the USAID Representative for USAID Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu (USAID PNG/SI/VAN). The Specialist reports directly to the USAID Representative or his/her designee. The DOC Specialist supports the Office of the USAID Representative for USAID PNG/SI/VAN in the achievement of its objectives by overseeing the quality development and implementation of multi-channel, multi-format, and consistent public information communications and outreach (in local languages as well as English) to three Pacific partner countries: Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu as well as to American audiences. The DOC Specialist will adapt agency-wide communications priorities and messaging to Mission-specific audiences and stakeholders, and contribute Mission-generated information, data, stories, photos, and video to USAID headquarters and other United States government stakeholders. The ultimate goal of the DOC position is to promote a better understanding of, and sustained support for, USAID’s partnership with the people and governments of these three countries and the broader Pacific Region.
