The TeamEnterprise Business Applications is a team within the IT organization and an important part of the operations function. Operations supports and enables our five program teams to make investments and run effectively and efficiently. The Enterprise Business Applications team is responsible for HR, Payroll, Legal, Finance, Travel, Events, and CRM applications at the Foundation.

Your Role

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will work in partnership with business stakeholders on the design, implementation, support, and optimization of HR and payroll processes and systems. You leverage technical experience and business acumen to enable streamlined foundation-wide business processes supporting the HR and payroll function(s) in Workday and other HR and payroll applications. You will be responsible for translating business process requirements into modern, scalable, and secure application solutions delivered through system configuration and in partnership with development teams. You collaborate across the organization to ensure seamless integration with the other business applications, systems, platforms, and infrastructure in the IT ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand customer needs and advise on continuous improvement.

  • Lead engagement with business partners on changing business needs, analyze business requirements, and communicate the system implications of proposed business process changes.

  • Lead the implementation of highly developed solutions leveraging functional domain expertise and assess solution options, including required security changes, adjacent system impacts, and reporting.

  • Manage work across multiple business partners and technology service teams to ensure delivery of requirements to reach project goals and foster collective success, as well as advise business partners on how best to understand the implications and value of different solution alternatives.

  • Lead estimation of work efforts and make commitments within the defined framework, perform system configuration changes, test configuration and development changes to ensure satisfaction of requirements, facilitate business testing and issue resolution, partner with business team on change management, and manage deployment.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and coordinate with software development teams as needed.

  • Configure requirements and design specifications and ensure appropriate documentation.

  • Transition applications and features to operations to result in highly maintainable and supportable solutions.

  • Responsible for user security design and maintenance, system monitoring, technical system documentation, support of application compliance documentation and audit, and proactively look for areas of process improvement, incorporating best and efficient processes day-to-day operations.

  • Contribute to product Knowledge Base content to ensure up-to-date and accurate support to customers and to help ensure efficient support response and resolutions.

  • Lead end-to-end project management of assigned projects, collaborating with project managers from the Project Management Office on larger initiatives to ensure the appropriate tasks and milestones for application delivery are included in the plan.

  • Execute across multiple business partners and technology service teams on requirements gathering, solution design, and feasibility analysis (functional and technical) in adherence to robust, sustainable, scalable, and security-focused design standards.

  • Empower team members while building trust and positive relationships across the team and foundation to help drive the work forward.

  • Collaborate with the management team by providing input into the annual planning and project forecasting processes, and have an eye for continuous improvement opportunities both within the team and across the business.

  • Support inclusive culture through modeling behaviors and actions; escalate issues in a timely fashion to appropriate stakeholders.

    Your Experience

    • Significant enterprise HR applications experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    • Expertise in Workday configuration and support with implementation experience.

    • Experience supporting key business events that affect employees and managers, such as benefits open enrollment, merit increases, performance evaluations, and surveys.

    • Expertise in designing and configuring business process solutions within HR and payroll applications.

    • Deep understanding of HR and payroll business processes.

    • Proven track record in business requirements elicitation techniques, translation to functional and non-functional technical requirements, options analysis, solutions design, story writing, test planning, and change management.

    • Experience with implementing non-ERP solutions, including bolt-on applications and system-to-system integrations. Understanding of Agile delivery, software development lifecycle, and project management processes.

      * The salary range for this role is $137,500 to $206,200 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $149,800 to $224,600 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hire salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
