DescriptionOverview The Biomedical Technologies Group at RTI International is a diverse research team in the design and development of innovative polymeric systems for health applications, with a focus on translation to early-stage products. The team is advancing various drug delivery systems such as topical formulations for pain management, nanoparticle-based mucosal vaccines, and subcutaneous implants for different medical indications. More recently, the Biomedical Technologies group is addressing the rising concerns of human health impacts from exposure to micro/nanoplastics, which now exist as ubiquitous global contaminants. By using well-characterized nanoplastics, the team is assessing the effects from the oral and inhaled exposure to these materials. The group is highly collaborative across RTI and externally, leveraging interdisciplinary expertise to advance research and development activities. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist with a strong background in nano/microparticle therapeutic delivery.
