This position will primarily be hired for the Environmental Health and WASH Research Group within the Health Systems and Population Studies Division, focusing on a study aimed at conducting a comprehensive health assessment of adolescent girls and women in hard-to-reach communities of Bangladesh. The study involves a multi-level stakeholder engagement, including the Directorate General of Health Services, Civil Surgeons, and Community Leaders.
Key responsibilities:
The position holder will report to the Associate Scientist and will be responsible for collecting data, processing, analyzing, and interpreting data; also providing technical support in writing scientific reports, protocols, and manuscripts within the guidelines of the research protocol, and also within the organization's values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in the following activities:
Track the project progress against the timeline, develop a dashboard to monitor the participant list, and summarize study achievements; Preparation of narrative project reports and workplan; Support organization of learning and reflection sessions, stakeholder meetings, and dissemination events; Arrange medical camps for adolescent girls and women in hard-to-reach areas across the country Conduct qualitative interviews of the participants engaged in the health camp Develop codes and conduct qualitative analysis using NVivo software; Train staff on field-based data collection and supervise the team to ensure data quality; Identify new research ideas; Assist in developing a research proposal as per the guidance of the supervisor; Develop and submit manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; Prepare presentation slides and present findings at external platforms such as conferences and seminars, as well as to relevant stakeholders; Carry out other research-related necessities as and when required.Required qualification and experience:
Master’s degree in Public Health from a reputed university with an excellent academic record; Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; Must have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to identify substantive problems that threaten the research activities, and the creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently.Location: Dhaka
