In this part-time (4 days per week preferred – see note below) maximum-term position (until 30 September 2025), you’ll provide practice guidance to Family Support Specialists that are servicing families in the Intensive Family Engagement Service and the Intensive Restoration Program.

You will be responsible for providing practice support to ten Family Support Specialists statewide. This role can be based out of Hobart, Launceston or Devonport office and you will report to our Family Services South Team Leader, Hamish Perry-Macleod.

You will make a difference by:

Supporting and coaching our Family Support Specialists to determine case direction and analyse complex cases and challenges Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, community members and external agencies Leading practice to ensure we target interventions to the needs of children and families with a strengths based, outcomes focus Supporting the coordination of staff caseloads and program logistics Monitoring and evaluation service delivery and outcomes Upholding risk management and child safeguarding policies

Does this sound like you?

You’re a highly capable and adaptive practitioner who has a strong practice framework and is confident in coaching and mentoring others. You are resilient, enjoy problem solving and excel in finding solutions to complex issues. Most importantly, you’re empathetic, passionate and self-motivated.

This role requires:

Degree or Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. social work, community services) strongly preferred, or significant equivalent experience Significant demonstrated experience in family support work and case management Exceptional communication skills and experience in report writing Exceptional time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others Demonstrated experience in using trauma informed approaches Demonstrated knowledge of the local child protection context is preferable A current driver’s licence

This role can be performed from our Hobart, Launceston or Devonport offices Requests for an alternative working hours arrangement (e.g. a three, four or full-time work week) will be considered This is a maximum term contract
