    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Senior Investment Officer is assigned to the Equity Investment Unit under the Office of the Director General (OPSD-EIU) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

    You will report to the Advisor, PSOD and Unit Head, OPSD-EIU and designated Technical International Staff. You will oversee Junior team members.

    Your Role

    As a Senior Investment Officer, you will work as part of the Deal Team and will contribute to the build-out and development of a \"best in class\" equity asset and portfolio management function.

    You will:

    a. Origination and Processing

  • Support the deal teams to (a) originate and complete equity investments and (b) manage due diligence process to ensure that the assessment is carried out of the expected risks and return.

    b. Portfolio Management

  • Provide support in taking on relationship management responsibilities
Oversee the monitoring of financial health and development impact of accounts, ensuring issues are addressed and strategic goals are met. Review documents such as waivers and amendments, ratings, quarterly valuation, extended review/other reports, exit proposals. Ensure compliance to ADB's shareholder agreement rights and Environmental and Social safeguards standards, working with the Private Sector Transaction Support team. Evaluate portfolio based on criteria such as composition, size, quality, concentration risk, diversification, credit quality migration, and valuation movements. Compare and implement approved exit strategies. Track payment of fees and income/dividends from equity investments and divestments. Monitor the tools for financial analysis, risk evaluation mitigation measures. Oversee the quality of project records in online document management system.

c. Strategy and Planning

Help in the development of a sound portfolio management strategy.

d. Knowledge Center for Governance, Risk Advisory, and Development Impact

Help the team in introducing of international best practices in corporate governance, risk management and internal controls at investee companies. Measure development, environmental and social safeguard outcomes.

e. External Liaison and Knowledge Sharing

Develop relationships with financial intermediaries, institutional investors, commercial partners and business leaders. Analyze and report on market and investment trends.

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields; preferably with Master's Degree or equivalent At least 8 years of work experience, with the private sector in Origination, Processing and Portfolio management covering equity and capital markets; and at least 4 years of supervisory experience Experience building detailed financial models for valuations and financial returns analysis. Knowledge of multilateral finance institutions' standard operational processes. To undertake research on well-defined tasks, collect and organize required information, and apply skills in organizing and analyzing the data and preparing notes and sections of reports. Good analytical thinking with ability to make pros and cons analysis, and analyze factors to reach a decision. To guide junior Technical Local staff on work planning, delivery and quality review. To collaborate with other teams as a constructive team member. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, in particular strong ability in business writing.
