The purpose of this position is to ensure that accurate and timely core accounting functions are maintained both at HQ and in all overseas project offices. This position will have responsibility for month end close assignments, training of field accountants, invoicing, cashflow analysis, monitoring of bank accounts, and donor financial reporting. This position will also support the New Business team in budgeting for new business proposals. The successful candidate must have a strong general ledger maintenance experience and have had prior finance experience that includes financial analysis and budgeting. This position is based either in Arden Hills, Minnesota or Washington, D.C. and requires up to 20% international travel.

Accurate and Timely Financial Reporting:

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely month end close process; including keying journal entries, running labor distribution for assigned organizations, completing field voucher reviews, completing the inter-company work order (IWO) process in Costpoint for international countries, and completing monthly reconciliations and/or reviews for assigned balance sheet accounts. Responsible for HQ-based donor financial reporting.
  • Also responsible for managing annual field audits and other donor audits, as needed.

Operational & Financial Analysis Support

  • Responsible for providing financial analysis support to V37 operational teams as needed. This can include, but is not limited to, expense analysis, financial report reviews, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Also contribute to New Business budgeting and analysis efforts as needed by serving in the role of budgeter for new potential business pursuits.

Ongoing Financial Project Support; including:

  • Responsible for field training on accounting and finance topics and procedures in-country and virtually, as needed.
  • Responsible for field monthly balance sheet reconciliation review and follow-up, reporting to HQ management on issues on trends within the field reconciliations and answering accounting or Costpoint questions for the field accountants.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year University degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years relevant job experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience in budgeting and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internal or external audit experience a plus
