- Ensure coordination with relevant UN partner agencies to ensure coherence of the project activities and results;
- Ensure coordination with relevant government offices and officials at federal level for better collaboration, partnership and for greater ownership of the results of the federal government;
- Coordinate with relevant officials of province and local governments to effectively implement project activities and also ensure alignment with their programs;
- Ensure that all activities under each output are prepared in a timely manner and implemented in accordance with stated outcomes and performance indicators;
- Prepare Annual Work Plans, Quarterly Work Plans and other documents for the approval of the Project Board;
- Ensure project resources, aligned with overall project resources are effectively used to achieve set project outputs and outcomes;
- Organize joint meetings of government and UN agencies as required for strategic engagement ;
- Carry out field visits to the program areas as necessary, liaise with the stakeholders and government officials and monitor the project activities;
- Support UNDP in organizing meetings of project steering committee and project advisory committee;
- Prepare the Terms of References for the consultants required by the project;
- Ensure timely submission of technical and progress reports to the donor, partners, and UNDP.
- Devise key strategies for implementation of the project, in close collaboration with the Policy Advisor, Inclusive Economic Growth;
- Provide high quality technical advice on the policy documents and other strategic documents of the projects;
- Provide technical and advisory services to the federal, provincial and local government on SDG financing, SDG based budgeting and data for SDGs;
- Ensure all products of the project are properly documented;
- Lead in the preparation of strategic policy documents on SDG financing and SDGs based budgeting;
- Ensure strategic communication of project results to government, development partners and other stakeholders;
- Participate in relevant forums and produce communication material for project;
- Lead in writing reports, and knowledge products as necessary.
- Ensure that GESI is well captured and mainstreamed throughout the SDG Portfolio initiatives including at the policy and institutional levels and in detailed planning, programming, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting;
- Work closely with the GESI advisor to ensure GESI related results.

- Local Economic Development
- Master’s degree in economics, development studies, or another relevant subject.
- Seven years of experience as project manager or infrastructure specialist
Required skills and competencies:
- At least years of experience on development planning, financing
- Solid understanding and Knowledge of Nepal’s policy framework and financing instruments for SDGs
- Experience in working with the government on SDGs costing, financing and data base
- Better Knowledge and experience working with provincial and local governments on SDGs
- Prior experience working with UNDP is an asset
- Fluency in oral and written Nepali and English is essential
- The SDGs Advisor is required to travel in the provincial HQs and in the selected local goverments in monitoring project activities
