NRC started working in Iran in 2012 providing Education, Livelihood and Food Security, Shelter and WASH, ICLA, Disaster Risk Reduction and Protection. NRC is currently rolling out its Protection Core Competency in North and South of Iran covering 9 Provinces focusing on Specialized Comprehensive Protection Case management, Thought Leadership, and CBP activities.

Working as an important member of a small but diverse team committed to serve the most at risk with practical and compassionate care, the Protection Technical Assistant (Protection Case Worker) conducts Protection Case Management in the Areas of assignment. She/he will also collaborate in training, mentorship and coaching of both NRC and National Partner staff at the field. 

 

Generic Responsibilities

 

Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.

Ensure compliance with NRC Safe and Inclusive Programming guidelines and tools.

Assist in the implementation of the Protection portfolio according to the plan of action, best practice, and international Protection Standards.

Assist in the organization and delivery of tasks in line with established procedures, agreed priorities, international standards, and relevant guiding principles.

Ensure proper filing of documents and confidentiality of stored information.

 

Specific responsibilities 

Conduct Case Management including development of action plans and Case Management sub services.

Record and complete data entry for Protection assessments in the database in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant procedures.

Ensure accurate data entry of all cases received

Ensure that all data and information pertaining to Case Management are handled in strict and confidential manner, and in line with applicable Data Protection and Information Sharing protocols.

Contribute to the monitoring of CBP activities at MPSCs and capacity building of partners’ Protection staff.

Any other tasks relevant to the position and as requested by the line manager

 

 

1. Professional competencies 

 

Knowledge of Psychological First Aid and/or Trauma-Informed Interview Techniques

At least 1 year of work experience as a Caseworker in humanitarian/recovery 

Good knowledge of written and spoken English

Good computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

 

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience: 

Excellent understanding of Protection Case Management principles and processes

Knowledge of service mapping and referrals

Previous experience in Protection-related activities is highly desirable

Documentation and report writing in line with Protection principles

Ability to work in a multicultural organization with members from diverse cultures and backgrounds
