POSITION SUMMARY: Winrock International is seeking a Prosecution Manager for the Department of State-funded US-Nepal Child Protection Compact (CPC) project. The purpose of CPC is to advance the efforts of the Government of Nepal and civil society organizations in Nepal to combat child trafficking. This includes the implementation of a prevention strategy that addresses targeted risk factors, promotes high-quality comprehensive victim protection, and investigates, prosecutes, and convicts perpetrators of child trafficking. The Prosecution Manager will lead the project’s activities related to increasing identification, investigation, and adjudication of child trafficking cases in Nepal using a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach; as well as providing legal aid to the families of survivors. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead activities under the objective of increased utilization by the Nepal actors, including law enforcement, prosecutors and the judiciary of exiting trafficking legal frameworks to identify, investigate and prosecute trafficking crimes in coordination with and co-ownership of the relevant Nepalese entities Builds and maintains relationships with government counterparts at all levels and relevant access to justice agencies and programs to increase collective impact In collaboration with experts, partners, provide training and technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, first responders and service providers on child TIP laws, investigative techniques, child-sensitive interviews and court processes, and managing TIP case information Provide guidance and inputs to project-developed training curricula, tools, SOPs and guidance to ensure consistency with Nepal laws and international good practices and the best interest of child victims Manages related to the objective partners, consultants and procurements Coordinate and communicate with all Nepal CPC staff on complementarity of activities and on cross-cutting issues such as survivor engagement and GESI Contribute to the projects workplans, budgets, grants, and monitoring and learning activities Draft technical deliverables and reports for various audiences, including quarterly and ad hoc reports for the funder Represent Winrock and the project in a variety of forums including conferences and workshops Other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum six years of professional experience in the field of human trafficking, child protection, access to justice or other relevant areas Bachelor or Master’s degree in Law, International Development, Human Rights or other related disciplines; or equivalent education and work experience Thorough knowledge of human trafficking related national and international laws, rules, protocols, and good practices Experience organizing and facilitating capacity strengthening activities for criminal justice actors Demonstrated success in establishing partnerships and achieving results in complex, multi-agency collaboration Fluency in English and Nepalese required Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple competing priorities and activities Readiness to travel to project locations Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software All employees should adhere to USAID and Winrock International’s code of ethics, specifically child safeguarding and trafficking in persons provisions covered in the project agreement.
