Under the general supervision of the Division Chief and Deputy Division Chiefs, and in close collaboration within the division and the department, the successful candidate will support the administration of MCM's official travel, expert hiring and contracting, as well as organization of seminars, workshops or conferences. The vacancy is for a two-year contractual appointment, which may be renewed up to a maximum of four subject to satisfactory performances, budget availability and other business needs.
Main responsibilities include:
Support Official Travel: coordinate several internal processes related to official travel for staff, ranging from travel approvals to claims processing, with a view to ensuring smooth travel operations. Monitor staff expenditures on travel to ensure compliance with Fund policies and to avoid overspend.
Support the recruitment of Short-Term Experts (STX): coordinate several internal IMF processes associated with the vetting and recruitment of Short-Term Experts (STX) in a client focused and efficient way. Communicate and coordinate with a broad range of external partner agencies such as central banks and ministries of finance. Implementing the various IMF policies, procedures and IT systems pertaining to STX.
Support the planning and organization of seminars and events: coordinate a large volume of MCM-sponsored seminars to ensure that budget is optimized and that appropriate procurement and other procedures are followed. Support the organization of spring and annual meetings.
Collaboration and Communication: work collaboratively with other departments and divisions to explain Fund policies and procedures to relevant staff and experts; and contribute to various working groups related to the main job tasks, as needed.
Qualifications:
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a university degree, or equivalent, in business management, finance, economics, computer science or a related field.
A strong team player with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, sound judgement, the ability to multitask, proactivity, and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to work under acute pressure environment.
Strong technological skills (Microsoft Suite, Power BI) and demonstrated ability to learn new technology.
Experience in a similar role is preferred.
Only candidates who are currently residing in the Washington DC metro area will be considered.
This is a two-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
