Work LocationBangkok with flexible working arrangements Expected duration3-6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesSPMD provides support to all ESCAP Divisions and Offices in planning and raising funding for activities and creating partnerships. In addition, SPMD monitors the implementation of the mandated work, including technical cooperation projects funded from various sources, and manages and supports periodic thematic, subprogramme, and project evaluations. The intern reports to the Programme Management Officer in the Capacity Development and Partnerships Section who is the focal point for various partnership agreements between ESCAP and external development actors. The intern will support the following tasks: (i) review submission of draft agreements in accordance with guidelines and established rules and regulations; (ii) check consistency across agreements; (iii) liaise with requesting offices regarding requirements; (iv) organize the review of Committee (where relevant) and transmitting Committee comments to requesting offices; (v) prepare draft agreements for signature; (vi) conduct research and compiling statistics; (vii) review processes and identify ways to streamline them; and (viii) carry out case management and other administrative tasks. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Internship duration: 2-6 months. Interns work 5 days a week. (Full-time work must be more than 34 hours per week.) Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must have Solid drafting skills in the English language. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable. Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
