About this position:

The REM Division plays a leading role in mobilizing additional financing to public and private interventions in the IDB Group, in coordination with Vice Presfile:///C:/Users/vivianad/Downloads/OR-142-Organigrama-del-BID.pdfidencies of Country (VPC), Sector (VPS), Finance and Administration (VPF), respectively, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab. In recent years the team has multiplied its efforts to develop and manage partners from the private and emerging sector towards the creation and promotion of new investment opportunities in and for the LAC region, while maintaining the relations with the traditional public partners. In addition, it fostered the development of innovative products that unlock additional financing even from traditional donors.

We are looking for a strategic and qualified advanced professional to join our Resource Mobilization Division (REM) reporting to a cluster Lead Specialist. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the socio-economic development challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region and a professional experience of one of the following topics: sovereign sustainable debt, climate and/or biodiversity finance, international financial architecture.

What you’ll do:

You will be joining the cross-sectorial team responsible for developing and implementing partnerships and resource mobilization strategies and action plans for climate and biodiversity finance as well as innovative resource mobilization instruments such as credit substitution guarantees and hybrid capital, providing technical advice and formalizing purposeful partnerships in close coordination with other IDB Group units while ensuring alignment with the IDB Group’s strategy and priorities.

  • In coordination with our Office in Europe (EUR), our Office in Asia (ASI), and the Grants and Co-financing Management Unit (GCM), expand the IDB Group’s strategic alliances and dialogue with our existing key stakeholders based on a systematic analysis of their context and priorities.
  • Expand our partners’ base by developing action plans for new segments such as philanthropies and non IDB member countries.

    Further detailed activities include:

    • Support the team in the day-to-day institutional relationship with existing partner such as climate funds or bilateral donors.
    • Support the technical teams in the management of donor relationship during the execution phase of existing partnerships.
    • Enhance existing mobilization efforts through further expanding engagement with partners such as companies, foundations, universities, non-government organizations, as well as identifying and mapping of other new key private players in the development community.
    • Provide technical advice and bring ideas of how to continue expanding mobilization in areas of climate and biodiversity finance.

      What you'll need:

      • Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, economics, international development, or another related field.
      • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
      • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
