The Our Yarning initiative at Library For All has a rare opening for a Cultural Facilitator.

Our Yarning is a library of books created by and for community, designed to reflect the cultural identity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and spark a love of reading. These stories ensure cultural integrity and share a wide range of voices and perspectives.

Our Cultural Facilitator, Our Yarning has the power to change the lives of thousands of children in Australia.

The Cultural Facilitator, Our Yarning is responsible for:

· Liaising with Indigenous communities to support the publication of their stories

· Cultural advising on manuscript texts and illustrations

· Working with the Our Yarning Coordinator to deliver cultural training to educators

In this full-time, fixed term role, you’ll work as a part of our Programs team in Brisbane, Melbourne, or remotely to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Cultural Facilitator, Our Yarning plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it’s managing Cultural and Intellectual Property (CIP) or working directly with community, you’ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia.

You will make a difference by:

Driving the production of culturally authentic children’s stories to support inclusion and literacy across Australia. Supporting learning, assessment, and advocacy of Our Yarning. Contributing to the operational processes of the Our Yarning initiative.
