For more information, visit www.worldbank.org The Sustainable Development Practice Group helps countries tackle their most complex challenges in the areas of Agriculture; Climate Change; Environment and Natural Resources; Social Development; Urban, Resilience and Land Development; and Water. The Sustainable Development Practice Group hosts an Office of the Chief Economist (GSSCE).  The major functions of this Office are to support knowledge intensive activities in the Sustainable Development Practice Group, undertake research, promote collaboration and to liaise with the academic community. It seeks to empower teams with knowledge and information to deliver the best global advice to client countries.  The Office aims to serve as a small think-tank for the Practice Group to ensure that investment and advisory decisions are informed by the latest rigorous evidence.  The work program contains three interrelated pillars: knowledge creation and dissemination; building and maintaining capacity of staff within the Practice Group; and support customized needs of the Practice.  To deliver on its wide mandate the Office is seeking to hire a Senior Economist with outstanding analytical and communication skills.
The Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF) is a partnership between the WBG and the Republic of Korea, established in 2013 to support client countries as they shift to a green development path. The key objective of the KGGTF is to scale-up and strengthen the WBG’s global green growth portfolio by leveraging knowledge and resources from Korea to support World Bank Group client countries.  This includes assisting developing countries to achieve sustainable development through practical knowledge sharing on green growth efforts, developing an informed knowledge base, and building capacity to implement green growth investments. The KGGTF is under the Sustainable Development Chief Economist Office Unit.
In the above context, GGSCE is seeking an Operations Analyst to support the day-to-day operations of the KGGTF, with additional specific responsibility and focus on providing technical support to urban, environment, and energy operations staff based in the World Bank Representative Office in Korea. The position of Operations Analyst is essential in facilitating a constant dialogue between the clients, the World Bank team, and other development partners, to enhance the quality of the green growth portfolio. The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Sr. Operations Officer, who coordinates the KGGTF/GGSCE, under the overall supervision of the GGSCE Manager. The selected candidate is expected to be able to work independently, seeking guidance on complex projects/issues from senior specialists.
The Operations Analyst will support designated activities related to KGGTF operations, including working with Task Team Leaders (TTLs) managing KGGTF programs, with a focus on Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Practice Group activities: Agriculture & Food (AGF), Digital Development (DD), Environment, Natural Resources & Blue Economy (ENB), Transport (ITR), Urban, Resilience & Land (URL), and Water (WTR). 
It is expected that the candidate provides substantive operational, research, statistical and other analytic support to TTLs and KGGTF team. Also, may undertake administrative responsibilities ensuring efficient coordination of team activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be assigned responsibility for a range of support operations, including but not limited to the following:
• Support KGGTF program administrative and operational needs, including but not limited to program portfolio management, TF operations (knowledge and learning component), and fiduciary responsibilities.• Support the KGGTF-related GPs based in Korea joint program to monitor deliverables and results per agreed performance targets and indicators.• Support in the preparation and supervision of projects related to Urban, Transport & ICT, Water, Environment, and Energy - contributing to all stages of the project cycle. This may include cross support for the development of project components, project costing and financing, preparation of monitoring and evaluation plans, assistance to drafting project related documents, TORs for a project or sector-related work.• Participation in missions, meetings, and discussions - in an area of specialization - to provide technical inputs and guidance to counterparts on the appropriate scope, technology, costs, etc.• Regular program review to identify lessons learned and best practices, and promotion of best practices through the organization of knowledge dissemination events and knowledge exchanges (online & off-line).• Support the development and maintenance of technical partnerships with counterparts on green growth infrastructure in areas of focus.

Selection Criteria

• Minimum Master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, international relations, social sciences, or other field related to development.• Minimum of 2 years of directly relevant professional experience• Working understanding of development projects relevant to Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Practice Groups of the World Bank• Full proficiency in English and Korean (both verbal and written) is required. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal/external partners and promote collaboration in a multi-cultural environment.• Proven capacity to work independently and effectively on a variety of tasks, able to adjust to shifting priorities and to achieve results within agreed objectives.• Ability to follow through on team priorities with minimum supervision.• Proficiency in standard IT office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).• Good knowledge and understanding of WBG operational processes and procedures in areas of project preparation, appraisal, implementation, and ability to participate in all stages of a project cycle, would be an advantage.
