This position is located in the Programme Office in Kazakhstan (POKAZ), Nur-Sultan, under the Regional Office for Central Asia (ROCA), Tashkent, Uzbekistan, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The incumbent will work in close collaboration with ROCA, the Justice Section (JS) and the Terrorism Prevention Branch (TPB) at UNODC Headquarters Vienna.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing substantive support to the coordinate and implement activities within the framework of Sub-Program 2 “Criminal Justice, Crime Prevention and Integrity” of the UNODC Program for Central Asia (herein after “ROCA Program”) aimed at strengthening the rule of law through prevention of crime and promotion of effective, fair, humane and accountable criminal justice systems in line with UN standards and norms. The incumbent will specifically focus on the execution of UNODC’s technical assistance in the area of terrorism prevention in the Central Asia region as implemented under the ROCA Program.
The incumbent will report to the Crime Prevention and Criminal justice Officer (P3) in the Programme Office in Nur-Sultan on programme implementation related issues and will report to the Head of UNODC Programme Office in Kazakhstan on office management and administration related issues.
