Background/Context
UN Women Country Office in Georgia supports the government and civil society partners in fostering women's empowerment and gender equality. UN Women focuses its activities on one overarching goal: to support the implementation at the national level of existing international commitments to advance gender equality. In support of this goal, UN Women in Georgia implements projects/programmes in the following thematic areas: Women, Peace and Security; Elimination of Violence against Women; Social and Economic Empowerment of Women; Mainstreaming gender into national planning and budgeting processes.
UN Women within its projects/programmes plan to produce multimedia products such as photo documentaries depicting UN Woman’s intervention with beneficiaries (story-telling photography) and photo reports for the events (event photography) to promote UN Women’s work in Georgia and enhance public discussion and awareness on the issues related to Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence, support the realization of gender equality and the reduction of feminized poverty through addressing women’s social, economic, and political needs, with particular focus on IDPs, and conflict-affected and national minority women’s groups.
The photo reports/ documentaries are foreseen to cover all project/programme events and target regions – Kakheti, Shida Qartli, Qvemo Qarti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti (Georgia). UN Women communication strategy anticipates use of all kinds of media products and channels including for better outreach and communication with its primary and secondary target groups. Primary target group: women and girls; secondary target group: local governments and public in general. UN Women communications strategy foresees production of photo and multimedia products for placing and disseminating through social media and local and global corporate websites. Thus UN Women plans to contract photographer for the following tasks:
Description of Responsibilities /Scope of Work
The National consultant will be responsible to:
To capture high resolution images of UN Women’s various programme/project activities in various parts of the country. Caption each photograph with specific details such as the location taken, name of the person (for portraits), activity and any other relevant information. Provide UN Women with at least 1000 high quality photographs from all projects through Wetransfer or Google sharing platforms. The copy right for all these photographs remains with UN Women. To give creative input to the overall photo shooting. To provide the technical equipment needed for the shooting and editing including cameras, etc. To provide adequate lightening systems including camera light as well as any additional light equipment deemed necessary. Ownership or possession of a high-resolution state of the art digital camera/equipment is a MUST.Deliverables:
A collection of photographs depicting UN Women’s work across its core programme areas in TIF, PSD (high resolution for printing) as well as in jpg (low resolution for website use). A collection of sample photo essays of project beneficiaries of UN Women projects across all its core programme areas. Edited and captioned pictures to illustrate uploaded stories.Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel
This is a home-based consultancy.
As part of this assignment, there may be a maximum of 15 trips to regions of Georgia.
Note: the work will be reimbursed based on the submitted finalized deliverable(s) as requested, from the above list of deliverables.

Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, humanities or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, visual arts and design or any relevant field with four (4) years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.Experience:
