GENERAL CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MSF is a civil society initiative that brings together individuals committed to the assistance of other human beings in crisis. As such MSF is by choice an association.

The MSF movement is built around five operational directorates supported by MSF’s 21 sections, 24 associations and other offices together worldwide. MSF OCBA is one of those directorates. The operations are implemented by field teams and the mission coordination teams; together with the organizational units based in Barcelona, Athens and decentralised in Nairobi, Dakar and Amman. The field operations are guided and supported by 5 Operational Cells, the Emergency Unit and other departments supporting operations, including the Human Resources Department.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The general objective of the position is to provide support to the Prevention Service located in Barcelona, in relation to the management of occupational risk prevention.

Reporting hierarchically to the Staff Health Advisor.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To elaborate the risk assessment of MSF-Spain and MSF-OCBA work centers and positions.

· Safety visits for control and monitoring of corrective actions.

· Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of the emergency plan for headquarters and delegations.

· Preparation of risk information sheets.

· Training in risk prevention for MSF staff.

· Elaboration and implementation of guides, protocols and procedures for prevention management.

· Recording and investigating accidents at work and occupational illnesses of staff in order to establish preventive measures.

· Collaborating in the improvement of working conditions and the working environment.

· Drawing up the necessary technical reports.

· Drawing up the annual reports of MSF-Spain's own prevention service.

· Carrying out administrative tasks related to the position.

· Any other of the functions attributed to the superior risk prevention technician, according to current regulations.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education and experience:

· Intermediate or superior technician in Occupational Risk Prevention.

· Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in a medium-large company or organization.

· Spanish, high level of English. French desirable.

· Computer skills at user level.

CONDITIONS

· Position based in Barcelona office.

· Duration: 1 year.

· Full time job.

· Annual gross salary: HQ-2C (divided in twelve monthly payments) + Secondary Benefits based on MSF-OCBA Reward Policy.

· Starting date: September 2021.
