What we are looking for:
An experienced Logistics Manager to oversee logistics setup according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation. The position holder will ensure that NRC Gaza, Palestine, is well-positioned to respond to current and future needs and shall demonstrate strong engagement and leadership in all major logistics actions while ensuring capacity building of the logistics teams across the entire country.
What you will do:
- Develop the set-up of the logistics department to cope with the fast-changing growth of programs at the country level.
- Ensure that country set up complies with NRC Logistical Guidelines, NRC policies and donor requirements.
- Implement NRC’s logistics systems and procedures and develop in-country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedure.
- Contribute to program and project design, including budget development and preparation. Follow up and manage allocated budget lines.
- Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC Gaza projects.
- Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers.
- Establish filing systems/archives according to NRC standards in all offices.
- Provide audit and control checks within the country to ensure compliance to the logistics handbook.
- Ensure an anti-corruption focus on procedures and training.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities to implement cash-based interventions and market-based programmes by participating in assessments and response analysis discussions.
- Ensure the proper Logistics components are included in budget preparation for new grants and annual budgets - follow up and manage allocated budget lines (e.g. fuel, rental agreements).
- Development and implementation of advanced planning tools and systems for logistics activities (procurement, warehousing, fleet, etc.) in coordination with the project heads.
- Set up key performance measures for all aspects of logistics activities and regularly review them against actual performance.
- Management of the logistics team as well as support and develop relevant logistics training including coaching of newly recruited senior Logistics staff in Gaza.
- Close and regular communication, coordination and planning will all project managers.
- Directly assisting and contributing to program and project design, including budget development.

What you will bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Middle East particularly in Palestine is an added advantage.
- Experience in data collection, analysis and report writing.
- Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile with documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
What we offer:
- Duty station: Gaza, Palestine
- Contract: 12 months (Renewal is subject to performance and funds availability)
- Travel: Minimum of 40% time to NRC operational areas
