The IT Unit is looking for an IT Service Specialist (parental leave substitute) to join the Service Desk team. The position is full-time for a fixed term starting preferably in the early/late October 2024 and ending in February 2025. The core responsibility of this role is to provide end-user support, including solving PC, printer, mobile phone, and network software/hardware problems, and answering questions in accordance with Service Level Agreements. The role also involves managing users in NIB’s Active Directory and specified applications, as well as overseeing the PC, printer, and mobile phone environments, including the installation of new devices, hardware service, and software updates. This position requires communication with all levels of NIB staff throughout the Bank. The IT Service Specialist will participate in PC application, mobile, and infrastructure projects.

Main responsibilities

Follow up on unresolved problems and questions. Create and maintain user instructions and other documents. Create new users in NIB’s Active Directory and specified applications. Create new sites in NIBeDoc. Administer users in NIB’s Active Directory and specified applications. Liaise with NIB’s vendors as required. Support the roll-out of new applications and devices. Prioritize and manage multiple open incidents/cases simultaneously. Use NIB’s Service Desk application, Jira, to ensure efficient administration and escalation of incidents/cases. Perform and participate in remote troubleshooting/problem resolution through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions. Escalate to third-party service and support providers as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Working experience in IT support tasks. Knowledge of Microsoft products, including Windows 10, Microsoft 365, MS Office, MS Exchange, and preferably MS SharePoint. Working experience in smartphone user support. Experience in PC system management, PC security tools, and/or deployment of PC environments is considered an advantage. Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English and Finnish.
