Internship at the Southeast Asia Department (SERD) - Green Finance Hub Unit (SGFH) / ADB Singapore Office (SGO)
1. Internship Topic
Assessing regional transboundary climate risks that impact Southeast Asian supply chains
2. Summary of Job Description
As climate change intensifies, Southeast Asia faces growing physical climate risks—including extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to food and water security—that have regional spillover effects. The region’s economy, supply chains, and
resources are deeply interconnected with neighboring countries.
This project aims to map the channels through which transboundary risks impact key Southeast Asian countries and explore opportunities for enhanced regional cooperation to strengthen resilience. The assessment will include mapping country specific and transboundary physical climate impacts in Southeast Asia, identifying cross-border climate vulnerabilities, reviewing broad impacts of regional climate impacts on the selected Southeast Asian countries, and mapping opportunities for regional cooperation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research that identifies areas for regional cooperation on climate change adaptation in Southeast Asia. The internship may require mission travel to Singapore to engage in regional discussions along with
ADB staff.
