Background information/Organizational Context

The Affiliate Partnerships and Recruitment Section (APRS) based in Budapest, Hungary functions under the Division of Human Resources (DHR). The mission of APRS is to ensure that UNHCR can attract the best talent and the right person for the right job.
APRS is seeking a motivated and proactive intern who will implement a HR Intranet site review and update. The project aims to enhance the functionality, accessibility, and user experience of our current APRS HR Intranet site. The intern will play a crucial role in conducting a comprehensive review, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary updates to ensure the Intranet site aligns with current HR practices and organizational needs. Under this internship, the selected candidate will have a unique opportunity to gain an insight of the processes, systems and policies of UNHCR for talent outreach, recruitment and other HR workflows. During the internship the selected candidate will also be given access to UNHCR’s learning platforms and training courses, and will receive coaching and mentoring from various team members from APRS.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing APRS HR Intranet site, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including APRS staff and the Intranet support team to gather feedback and requirements for the site update.
• Propose and implement necessary changes to improve site navigation, content organization, and overall user experience.
• Create and update content as needed, including procedures and relevant HR information.
• Test and troubleshoot the site to identify and resolve any technical issues.
• Provide training and documentation to APRS staff on the updated Intranet site features.
Minimum qualifications required
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Good understanding of HR processes and practices.
• Familiarity with web development tools and content management systems
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Eligibility
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Recent graduate (those persons who completed their studies within two years of applying) or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO; and
• Have completed at least two year of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of the Organization.
Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 8.30am to 16:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team Budapest.
Internships normally lasts two to six months with the possibility of extension up to eight months for full-time internships and twelve months for part-time internships.
Candidates with previous UNHCR Internship experience must not have exceeded the maximum total cumulative duration.
Allowance: The Sponsoring Institution shall provide non-reimbursable financial support in the form of a stipend/scholarship/allowance/etc. and travel to and from the duty station for the period of internship to the student in UNHCR.
