DescriptionOverview The RTI International seeks a prospect for the Government Relations Internship within the General and Administrative (G&A) unit. This internship is a contract position. The employment contract is administered by Greene Resources Powered by Array, RTI’s supplemental staffing partner. Government Relations supports the entire Institute and seeks to further its mission to improve the human condition by leading engagement with policymakers to protect and promote RTI interests and monitor and improve public policy. This internship will provide a mentored learning experience and the opportunity to expand classroom knowledge and skills in a professional setting. As part of the Government Relations team, the intern will gain exposure to all divisions of RTI as well as Congress and the Executive Branch. Responsibilities Collaborating with the Government Relations team to represent RTI's interests in Congress, with the Administration, and amongst the non-profit/federal contracting community Attending, taking notes, and preparing memos on key Congressional hearings and related advocacy events Conducting research and tracking current events and Congressional happenings on various topics, including but limited to appropriations, international development, healthcare, energy, etc. Assisting the Government Relations team with internal and organizational projects to increase efficiency RTI's Internship Program emphasizes experiential and mentored learning experiences, providing students and recent degree recipients an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and skills in a meaningful and practical way.
