Over the years Economic Inclusion (EI) has become a focus area for NRC. EI is especially linked to NRCs Global Strategy under the sub objective focusing on Self-Reliance and Durable Solutions. In 2020 – 2021 NRC implemented an Economic Inclusion Learning Project funded by Conrad Hilton Foundation. In this project we developed an EI framework and an EI framing paper. We also developed a concept note for “EI as a pathway to self-reliance” that has been shared with different donors. One of the donors, IKEA Foundation (IF), commended the EI concept and NRC went through a proposal development process which recently got approval from IKEA.

In this position, you will be responsible for the quality implementation of the EI as a pathway to self-reliance project funded by IKEA Foundation – and further development of EI in NRC, working closely with the Global Lead for Livelihood and Food Security, country office representatives in Kenya & South Sudan and the Global Lead for self-reliance and durable solutions. Collaboration across NRCs Core Competencies (CCs) and thematic areas will be essential and the identification of local actors, especially private sector, to be involved in the project will be a success factor
