Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Management-related tasks (applicable to EU Trust Fund Action and other projects)

· Work in close coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the German Red cross/Swiss Red Cross delegate, follow-up and provide technical guidance on project planning, set up, implementation, budget spending, procurement, monitoring, reporting and evaluation to ensure that it adheres to all relevant rules and regulations from ERC and GRC/SRC and back-donors. Ensure that internal and donor-specific quality standards are kept

· Assist ERC to ensure that project files are kept and complete, including narrative and financial files as well as documentation related to decision-making and project monitoring.

· Highlight potential areas of challenges and delay to ERC and GRC/SRC delegate and discuss/follow up mitigation actions and solutions with ERC and GRC/SRC delegate.

· Participate in relevant ERC meetings and conduct joint field visits with ERC to monitor project implementation.

Liaison-related tasks:

· Foster good operational and administrative cooperation between ERC, GRC and SRC to strengthen the partnership.

· Work closely and maintain a respectful, good-spirited cooperative and collegial relationship with ERC staff.

· Build the technical capacity of ERC staff, in particular with regards to PCM, donor regulations and compliance.

Other tasks:

· Learn about the general principles, the structure, the tools and the procedures of development and humanitarian work within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and within ERC and GRC/SRC in particular.

· Work within the ERC teams and integrate into ERC’s organizational routine and culture (working days and hours etc.).

· Support the GRC/SRC delegate in additional tasks, for example administrative responsibilities or arranging visits from donors or GRC/SRC HQ.

Education Requirements:

· University or higher education institution degree

Requirements for the candidate:

· The position holder must have Egyptian Nationality.

Experience:

· Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the coordination and management of programs in international cooperation

· Minimum 5 years of experience with international cooperation projects funded by institutional donors. Experience with EU is an especially strong asset.

· Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills (Project Cycle Management-PCM)

· Experience with financial planning and monitoring as well as reporting

· Experience in working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is an asset

Language Requirements:

· Written and oral fluency in English.

Personal Requirements:

· Strong coordination and communication skills

· Experience in an advisory or coaching role is an asset

· Computer literate, including Excel, Word and Email

Good report writing skills
