CONTEXT
Oxfam-Quebec is implementing its new volunteer cooperation program (VCP) entitled "Equality in Action" working in close collaboration with Oxfam teams in the countries of intervention. This program will take place over a period of seven years (2020-2027) in thirteen countries and three regions.
The VCP aims to increase the performance of local partner organizations in developing countries in implementing inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality in the 13 countries. The knowledge, capacity and expertise of the qualified volunteers will be leveraged through short and long-term assignments with local partner organizations
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In close collaboration with the Oxfam team in Haiti and well as the Kafe Makaya project partners, the volunteer will be mandated to
Ensure the mobilization, training, accompaniment and advisory support to the project team and partners in the area of gender justice.
Support the local partners in carrying out or updating their diagnosis and their organizational development plan with respect to gender justice.
Coordinate the training and coaching plan for partners and allies on various topics related to gender justice (gender-based analysis, transformative leadership, combating violence against women and girls, etc.).
Support partners/allies in the planning, monitoring and quantitative and qualitative evaluation of gender results, according to the feminist Monitoring-evaluation-learning and accountability (MEAL) approach.
Contribute to the documentation of lessons learned by Oxfam and its partners on gender justice.
Participate in Oxfam and regional/country networks of expertise on gender justice.
Encourage analysis within the team to ensure ongoing strategic thinking on gender justice issues.
Serve as a Safeguarding Focal Point to support the implementation of Oxfam's policies, standards and practices in this area.
Share and embody Oxfam's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy for any behaviour contrary to the code of conduct, including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, intimidation, lack of integrity, corruption and fraud;
Participate in development efforts in Canada during and after the mandate by contributing to the dissemination of the program, projects, partners, etc. through testimonials, life stories, photos, quotes, etc.; and
REQUIREMENTS
Be domiciled in Haiti and have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada
University degree in program evaluation, social science, women's studies, project management, organizational development or any other relevant field
Three (3) years of professional experience in a similar mandate
Experience in gender justice and organizational development
Experience in training and coaching of civil society organizations
Experience in group facilitation
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Personal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Skype
Fluency in French and Creole (an asset)
Adherence to Oxfam-Québec's mission and values, including the promotion of equality between women and men
Experience in international development work (asset)
