Collect and assess evolving requirements, propose enhancements to the Flight Information Exchange Model (FIXM) and produce related supporting material. Collaborate with implementing organisations to promote awareness of SWIM for flight information exchange, facilitate the sharing of implementation experiences, identify risks, assess and propose mitigations measures and identify requirements to improve implementation. Provide implementation guidance, monitor progress of necessary activities carried out by implementing organisations and facilitate a consolidated and accurate reporting to stakeholders such as the SESAR Deployment Manager including other necessary reports as needed. Participate in common implementation projects by assisting in the development of coordinated roadmaps and synchronising implementation efforts with relevant organisations. Carry out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university degree of four years (e.g. Master’s degree) in a relevant field such as IT, Engineering. In addition to the above, minimum 2 years’ relevant professional experience to carry out the described responsibilities. Experience in flight information exchange systems. Experience in the development of specifications. Understanding of ATM information models (e.g. AIXM, FIXM, iWXXM, AIRM). The following would be considered an advantage: Experience in producing guidance material for flight information exchange systems. Experience with software development or enterprise architecture. Knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (API) standards and best practices. Technical writing skills (English). Analytical thinking: You apply a methodical approach to complex information. Communication: You are able to foster two-way communication. Planning & Organisation: You know how to plan ahead and adapt as required. Networking: You know how to maintain and expand effective networks. Teamwork: You foster teamwork. Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2 (oral and writing). The selected candidate will be required to become a basic user of French at level A1/A2 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year(s) and it may be renewed up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract pursuant to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. Before being established in the post, he/she will be requested to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months. The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades.
